Highlights of the News

A reader sent me this. I cannot stop playing it.

ITEM 1: The Washington Examiner reported, "A group of Republican lawmakers is demanding the Biden administration halt U.S. taxpayer funding for several Russian labs, including one found to have conducted "horrific and barbaric experiments on 18 cats."

"Amid Moscow's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, the United States is funding four experimental laboratories in Russia. Rep. Lisa McClain (R., Mich.) and five of her Republican colleagues want funding for these labs halted as part of a larger effort by the United States and Western governments to sanction Russia and isolate its economy. The recent disclosure that cats are being brutalized in U.S.-taxpayer labs based in Moscow has heightened the urgency of these calls, the lawmakers say."

Red China.

Ukraine.

Now Russia.

How about we quit outsourcing and bring these biolabs home where we can keep American mad scientists employed. Be American, biolab American.

ITEM 2: USA Today reported that Zelensky spoke to Canada's parliament, access denied the Canadian Freedom Convoy. He'll speak to Congress for a second time today. Don't look at it on C-Span because Congress controls what it shows. C-Span aired it. Good job.

The story also said, "More than 3 million Ukrainians have fled the country."

A few more weeks of this and Zelensky won't have a country left to defend.

ITEM 3: Life News reported, "The Maryland Democrat who sponsored a radical bill that would legalize infanticide, letting babies die up to 28 days after birth, is reportedly altering his legislation. Senate Bill Sponsor William Smith, the author of SB 669, is supposedly removing the perinatal section of the bill and has cancelled a hearing scheduled for Tuesday."

The good news is Democrats have to back off on legalizing this form of murder.

The bad news is they will be back. They always are.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: A reader left a comment: "By the way, Don, would you feel the same way if Ukraine was replaced with Israel? Just wondering as a thought experiment.

"Apparently Kyiv's mayor Klitschko has admiration for Israel and IDF."

I would have the same feelings. I oppose Israel joining NATO. I oppose a USA no fly zone to protect Israel. I oppose USA troops on the ground in Israel.

Sell them arms, of course, but Israel has defended itself for nearly 80 years against far larger forces without NATO or our troops.

ITEM 4: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer boasted, "House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and House Democratic Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), released the following statement this morning on the inclusion of a 21% increase in Member Representational Allowance (MRA) funding in the Fiscal Year 2022 Omnibus legislation. Leader Hoyer and Chair Jeffries have long advocated for this increase to the MRA in order to ensure that Members, leaders, and committees can attract and retain the best and brightest to help them serve the American people while promoting a more diverse workforce."

Congress also expanded the Capitol Police.

I want the next Republican Congress to gut the staffing at the Capitol and eliminate the Capitol Police because they get away with murder.

Congress deserves no more protection than any other citizen.

ITEM 5: The New York Post reported, "Sarah Raskin withdraws Federal Reserve nomination after Joe Manchin blocks Biden pick."

Another commie bites the dust.

Way to go, Joe.

ITEM 6: The Wall Street Journal reported, "Saudi Arabia is in active talks with Beijing to price some of its oil sales to China in yuan, people familiar with the matter said, a move that would dent the U.S. dollar’s dominance of the global petroleum market and mark another shift by the world’s top crude exporter toward Asia.

"The talks with China over yuan-priced oil contracts have been off and on for six years but have accelerated this year as the Saudis have grown increasingly unhappy with decades-old U.S. security commitments to defend the kingdom, the people said.

"The Saudis are angry over the U.S.’s lack of support for their intervention in the Yemen civil war, and over the Biden administration’s attempt to strike a deal with Iran over its nuclear program. Saudi officials have said they were shocked by the precipitous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan last year.

"China buys more than 25% of the oil that Saudi Arabia exports. If priced in yuan, those sales would boost the standing of China’s currency. The Saudis are also considering including yuan-denominated futures contracts, known as the petroyuan, in the pricing model of Saudi Arabian Oil Co. , known as Aramco."

Way to go Biden.

The dollar no longer is the world's reserve currency.

ITEM 7: The Verge reported, "Last week, a flurry of news reports worryingly claimed that Russia was threatening to strand an American astronaut on the International Space Station in direct response to sanctions placed on the country as it continues to invade neighboring Ukraine. But Russia’s state space corporation Roscosmos is trying to put those fears to rest, saying that it will bring home the astronaut as planned."

The Russian government now has more credibility than the American media has.

ITEM 8: The Washington Examiner reported, "Attorneys for disgraced actor Jussie Smollett are calling for an emergency release, citing dangerous threats faced by Smollett, including a message sent to him about sodomy."

I want a handwriting analysis that proves the message was not written in his hand or in the hands of his family, friends, lawyers and those two Nigerian brothers.

ITEM 9: Breitbart reported, Jen "Psaki temporarily ruled out importing Venezuelan oil shortly after polling released in the past week showed a dramatic collapse in support to the Democrats from Hispanic Americans that began during the 2020 election, fueled by concerns that socialists friendly with, among others, the Venezuelan regime had become too powerful within the Party.

"Biden sent a delegation to Caracas to visit socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro — who America does not formally recognize as the president of Venezuela, as the National Assembly constitutionally stripped him of that power in 2019 — on March 5. While multiple establishment media reports claimed the American team was there to discuss a potential oil deal with Maduro, the dictator, while confirming the visit, did not mention any such conversation. He instead claimed that he engaged in a 'respectful, cordial, diplomatic meeting' on an unspecified 'positive agenda.'

"America sanctioned Venezuela’s national oil company, Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), and blocked imports of Venezuelan oil under President Donald Trump in response to Maduro’s extensive human rights violations against his own people in 2019. Reports claiming that Biden was considering lifting those sanctions claimed the driving consideration was his now-announced ban on importing oil from Russia in response to the latter’s ongoing war in Ukraine."

For all their claims of opposing fascists, Democrats sure suck up to them, don't they?

Latinos who fled commie regimes are seeing how awful the Party Of Obama is.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

They cheated by adding 10 million mail-in votes, then on Election Night, they needed a million more.

ITEM 10: Just the News reported, "A bill banning abortion after six weeks of pregnancy is headed to Idaho Republican Gov. Brad Little to sign after the Idaho House on Monday voted overwhelmingly in support of the measure.

"The legislation passed the state House 51-14 and cleared the Idaho Senate earlier this month."

The hills are alive with the sound of babies.

ITEM 11: USA Today named Rachel Levine as a woman of the year citing Levine's handling of covid 19.

Huh? Levine and public health directors across the country failed to save even one life with their pandemic theatrics. Masks and social distancing are voodoo medicine that have no science behind them. None. The holes in the masks are larger than the virus.

But honoring transgenders is a fad these days and USA Today is desperate for clicks.

ITEM 12: The Wall Street Journal reported, "USA Today Owner Gannett Co. Gave Advertisers Inaccurate Information for Nine Months.

"Publisher misrepresented where billions of ads were placed, researchers say, and Gannett corrected the issue in recent days."

The story said, "In a typical example of how ad space was mislabeled, a reader of the Indianapolis Star was represented incorrectly in an online auction as a visitor to USA Today’s site, according to the researchers. An advertiser seeking to target a national audience could have instead reached people in Indiana."

Thus Gannett could charge for the larger audience of USA Today for stories on the Indianapolis Star's site.

And the story said, "It wasn’t just the website itself that was being misrepresented in auctions, but also the article being viewed by the user who would see the ad, the researchers said. For example, in an instance observed by a Journal reporter, advertisers were told an article was about the viral game Wordle when it was actually about bear cubs in Pennsylvania."

Professional courtesy is why WSJ did not say Gannett bilked advertisers.

ITEM 13: Reuters reported, "The U.S. Senate on Tuesday passed legislation that would make daylight saving time permanent starting in 2023, ending the twice-annual changing of clocks in a move promoted by supporters advocating brighter afternoons and more economic activity."

Another failed Jimmy Carter Dick Nixon policy returns.

Just wait until next winter when kids wait for school buses in pitch darkness.

ITEM 14: Fox reported, "Migrant encounters at the southern border in February were 63% higher than the same time last year, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data released Tuesday, with more than 160,000 encounters by border authorities.

"There were 164,973 encounters in February, compared to 101,099 encounters in February last year -- a month that preceded a massive surge in numbers in the spring and summer months that overwhelmed Border Patrol but that the administration denied was a crisis. In February 2020 there were just 36,687 encounters."

The invasion quadrupled under Biden.

He's the Walmart greeter of border protection.

ITEM 15: Just the News reported, "Hunter Biden's ex-business partner was convicted nearly four years ago of securities fraud and still he has not spent a day in prison. And now Devon Archer's lawyers are trying to delay his punishment yet again with a new appeal that did not amuse federal prosecutors.

"Archer faces one year and one day in prison and was ordered last month to pay financial penalties of $15 million and over $43 million in restitution.

"His arguments to appeal and postpone serving prison time have no merit, the U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan told the trial judge Monday."

In that time honored tradition of Washington grifters, Archer bilked American Indians in a scheme unrelated to Hunter's massive corruption.

One year and one day for a $60 million scam? That sounds lighter than Smollett's 5 month timeout in the Cook County jail.

ITEM 16: Politico reported, "A judge on Tuesday hit former White House official Omarosa Manigault Newman with a $61,585 penalty for ignoring her duty to file a financial disclosure report after she was fired from her post as a communications aide to President Donald Trump in December 2017."

Her Trumpenfreude tastes delish.

FINALLY, the Wall Street Journal reported, "Nonwhite voters are more likely than white voters to say the highest inflation in four decades is triggering major financial strain in their lives and that appears to be giving Republicans an opening with a growing segment of the electorate that traditionally favors Democrats, the latest Wall Street Journal poll shows.

"Eight months before the midterm election, 35% of Black, Hispanic, Asian-American and other voters who said they were something other than white expressed that level of inflationary pain, compared with 28% for white voters. Black women and Hispanic men, both at 44%, reported the highest proportions of major strain among various demographic and gender combinations."

Abracadabra.

Biden is doing what Obama did: turning Democrats Republican.
